Developing and Maintaining Open-Source Investigations Capacity from Scratch
In October 2024, the IIIM organized a closed workshop focused on how to develop an open source investigation capacity from scratch. Drawing on its extensive experience, the IIIM brought together leading organizations to exchange their experiences, insights, knowledge, and ongoing challenges. IIIM Syria Report on 2024 Results
The International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) for Syria is pleased to announce the release of its latest Report on Results. The report outlines achievements made in 2024 against the objectives set out in the Mechanism’s 2023–2025 Strategic Plan.  Despite continued funding challenges, the IIIM advanced its work by assisting competent jurisdictions, supporting future accountability efforts, and strengthening collaboration with Syrian civil society organizations, and victim and survivor groups.

Evaluation of the integration of a gender analysis into workflows of the IIIM’s core activities 

Between September and December 2022 an external evaluation consultant, Inmaculada Barcia, was granted access by the IIIM for the purpose of conducting an evaluation on the integration of a gender analysis into the core activities of the IIIM. On 11 January 2023, Ms. Barcia, submitted the Final Evaluation Report and the Management Response was finalized by the IIIM Leadership Team on 27 March 2023.  

In consideration of the confidentiality of the IIIM’s work and work processes described throughout the Final Evaluation Report, the Head of the IIIM deemed the information in the report to be confidential. As a result, not all aspects of the report are available for publication.
